We look forward to receiving your entry for this year’s Parkstone Yacht Club Youth Week. Youth Week 2010 is scheduled for Sunday 1st August until Friday 6th August. As in previous years your volunteer committee has put together a busy week of sailing and on and off the water entertainment.
We have made Monday and Thursday the ‘all-day’ sailing days this year, to balance the week better, and give a free evening earlier in the week. The BBQ aspires to be a more elaborate and authentic affair, now on Tuesday evening after an exciting afternoon of land based activities.
The bacon buttie stand will be open each day for pre-sailing grub.
The entry fee includes the BBQ for competitors and all entertainment. Extra tickets for the BBQ (for parents) and the Hog Roast will be available at registration. You can order lunches for the whole week on the entry form, though the cost has had to rise a little from 2009. For Orange Course competitors this will be offered as a packed lunch on Monday and Thursday.
Registration will be from 10.30-Noon on Saturday 31st July, and there will be a volunteering booth to fill all those last minute vacancies for parents jobs needed to make the week run.
You will be aware that the club rules dictate that all under 16 yr olds are supervised whilst on club premises. This means that parents are expected to be present, or that there are robust ‘in loco parentis’ arrangements in place. Please do not enter your children for Youth Week if you cannot meet this requirement.
The YW10 T-shirt will be free this year to all those entered before 1st July 2010, please nominate your size on the entry fees page.
You can also order a ‘Varsity’ or ‘Kids’ Hoodie on the entry form. In order to allow time for the garments to be printed and embroidered we need these orders by 1st July. The logo artwork will be set up at Axent Embroidery, Cabot Lane or High Street Poole, for those who wish to have other items of clothing embroidered.
