Here is a help sheet for people doing Friday box duties.

-          Darts race on April 9 & 23; May 14 & 28; June 11 & 25; July 9 & 16; August 6.

-          Darts will provide safety boat crew for evenings they race. Will then provide cover also for Albacores & F15s.

-          Albacores race from May 7 to August 13. They have been made aware that the F15s will not provide safety boat cover.

-          Warning Signal times in Club Handbook.

-          Check that Jason has left out sign on sheets in the Sailing Office and race officer bag in Bosun’s Office (portacabin at entrance to haven). If not there, then borrow key to inner Sailing Office from Haven Office. Sign on sheets in box file. Should also be a pen or two (please return afterwards).

-          Pick up race officer bag from Bosun’s Office (see item above) and launch keys. Sign out for launch (check which one has the outer distance mark in it).

-          Race officer bag contains – Platform keys, Club Handbook, course book, rule book & mobile phone.

-          Take outer distance mark in launch. Should have been left in the launch ready. Consider laying ODM before going on to Platform.

-          Allow for rise/fall of tide when securing launch to Platform.

-          Switch on electricity next to door and test sound signal and radio.

-          Inform Harbour Master of approx numbers racing and likely race area. Enquire of any shipping movements.  Number is programmed into mobile phone in race officer bag (otherwise in Club Handbook).

-          Put up yellow & black inner distance board.

-          Hoist burgee, tie on class flags and prep flag. There is a prep flag permanently rigged but the flag pole may have to be lifted into position (socket next to door). Individual and general recall flags are already set up on flag pole.

-          Set courses and put course boards up. Darts prefer windward/leeward courses. Albacores usually happy to do same as F15s. If multi-lap course with possibility of shorten course, remember to include Finish Line in sequence of marks.

-          Blank results sheets (top and carbon) in locker under desktop. Enter course and wind direction & strength. Keep record of rounds if course includes Finish Line.

-          Switch off electricity and take down flags and inner distance mark when leaving Platform. Remember to pick up ODM.

-          Return race officer bag and launch keys to Bosun’s Office. Sign off for launch.

-          Post top copy results and sign on sheets through letterbox in inner Sailing Office.

-          Pin carbon results on Class boards.
